Currently, significant progress has been made in understanding the patterns of development of multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating diseases, the etiology and pathogenetic mechanisms of their development. Achievements in experimental neurology, neurophysiology, clinical immunology and genetics, standardization of diagnostic approaches, active introduction into everyday practice of highly informative instrumental methods for examining patients, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), accumulation and systematization of vast clinical experience, have made it possible to open a new era in the treatment of this severe disease. diseases, significantly improving the prognosis and increasing the quality of life of patients.

All this requires from neurologists dealing with this problem additional knowledge in various areas necessary for early differential diagnosis and selection of individual therapy. Therefore, in 2010, with the support of the All-Russian Society of Neurologists, the All-Russian public organization “Russian Committee of Researchers of Multiple Sclerosis” (abbreviated ROKIRS or RUCTRIMS) was created and officially registered in 2011 - the first professional community of researchers of MS and other demyelinating diseases of the nervous system in Russia.

In 2013, the First Congress of ROKIRS (RUCTRIMS) “Demyelinating diseases and neuroinfections, issues of diagnosis and therapy” was successfully held in Kazan, and in 2023 the Fifth Anniversary Congress of the Russian Committee of Multiple Sclerosis Researchers with international participation “Multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases” was held ".

In 2013, the First Congress of ROKIRS (RUCTRIMS) "Demyelinating diseases and neuroinfections, issues of diagnostics and therapy" was successfully held in Kazan, and in 2025, the Sixth Congress of the Russian Committee for treatment and reserch im multiple sclerosis with international participation "Multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases of the nervous system" was held in Tyumen.

We invite all neurologists to take an active part in RUCTRIMS work!
