All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Promising directions for diagnosis and therapy of demyelinating diseases” and “Conference of young scientists following the results of the ROKIRS 2023

On December 15-16, 2023, the All-Russian scientific and practical conference “Promising directions for the diagnosis and treatment of demyelinating diseases” and the Conference of young scientists following the results of the ROKIRS 2023 Congress were held in Yaroslavl, organized by ROKIRS, the Federal State Research Center “Federal Center for Brain and Neurotechnology” of the FMBA of Russia , Federal State Budgetary Institution "Scientific Center of Neurology" RAS, Russian National Research Medical University named after. N.I. Pirogov, YSMU, All-Russian Society of Neurologists. More than 100 people from 11 Russian cities took part in the event.

Issues of clinical and differential diagnosis, heterogeneity and age-related aspects of the demyelinating process (MS, NMOSD, MOG-associated diseases), new possibilities for the use of biomarkers, prospects for pathogenetic therapy of demyelinating diseases, including cell therapy, with an emphasis on autologous transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells were considered. with multiple sclerosis.

Of the total number of 45 reports, a significant part (20 reports) were presented by young scientists from various cities of the Russian Federation, winners of the competition for young scientists at the 5th Congress of ROKIRS 2023 in Ufa.

Their reports were devoted to the issues of neuroimmune interactions and the prospects for the use of new drugs in the treatment of MS, the potential possibilities of studying the transcriptome and micro-RNA of the cerebrospinal fluid in radiological isolated syndrome and multiple sclerosis, and new possibilities for MRI diagnostics of demyelinating diseases. The discussions and discussions of the reports were of great interest.

Continuation of discussions and debates is planned at the conference “New directions in the diagnosis and treatment of ID”, December 20-21, 2024 (Yaroslavl).
